| Forrest is now...Grand Champion Cullivoe Black Forrest! BISS GCh. Cullivoe Black Forest, "Forrest", is our Ch. Apple Acres Oddysey Armani ROM son out of our Ch. Cullivoe Ocean of Blue, "Marina". He is a very striking bi-black, with a soft expression and smooth, lean head. He has wonderful, true, free flowing movement, and loves to move around the ring with zest! I can hardly keep up with him!. He also has a terrific, fun loving temperment, and LOVES the show ring! He finished in grand style with a 4 pt. specialty major at the Des Moines SSC under Roger Hartinger and then took the 4 pt. major at Des Moines KC the next day to finish under Paula Hartinger. We moved him up to Best of Breed that Sunday, and won Best of Breed over 4 specials to put the icing on a very memorable weekend! He finished out his show career with numerous Group placements, and with 65 Best of Breeds! All owner handled. Forrest finished his Grand Championship at the Des Moines SSC on the same date as he finished his regular championship...just five years later! He finished with four majors...three 5 pt majors and one 4pt major. Sadly, he was diagnosed with Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the bladder in August of 2010. He received treatment at the University of Minnesota, but succumbed to the cancerous tumor on November 4, 2010. Three months after his diagnosis. We were hopeful, but TCC is not a very treatable cancer and does not carry a long life expectancy. We treated everyday as a gift, and when the time came, we walked him to the edge of the bridge, and helped him across before the impending pain became worse. He was show buddy, and will be greatly missed here at Cullivoe. Forrest sports seven Specialty Best of Breeds... |
